Chipotle Garlic Marinade

This Chipotle-Garlic Marinade is delicious and so versatile. It is excellent on steak and pork, or use it to liven up your chicken or shrimp! A few simple ingredients and a zip through the blender is all you need to create a zippy, south-of-the-border flavor to any grilled meat. After you try this marinade, you may never go back to bottled marinades again!

We use this marinade multiple times a month, it has become a staple in our house for our steak tacos. We use it to add zip to roast chicken and shrimp kabobs.

Ingredients
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 chipotle peppers (in adobo)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • Zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 1/4 c olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Directions
Add all ingredients to blender, purée until smooth. Pour over meat (I like doing this in a zip-lock bag) and let marinate. When ready to cook, allow excess marinade to drip off before adding to the pan/grill/etc. Discard excess marinade.

Here’s a good guideline for how long you should allow your meat to marinate
  • Shrimp: 30-60 minutes
  • Chicken or Pork: 4-8 hours
  • Steak: 8 hours - overnight

Try this recipe!
